Three Day Reminder: The deadline for film submissions for the 8th annual Northern California Bluegrass Society Bluegrass Film Festival is this Friday, October 24. The film festival will be  be held on January 25, 2015 in Redwood City, as part of the free weekend-long NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

RBA To Present Kathy Kallick Band In NCBS-Welcomed November 1 Concert

Redwood Bluegrass Associates will present the Kathy Kallick Band in a Saturday, November 1, 2014 concert. The program will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Of Mountain View (Cuesta at Mirramonte).

NCBS welcomes all RBA concerts.

The concert will begin at 7:30pm, and will be preceded by a 5:00pm open jam and by a slow jam hosted by Richard Brandenburg.

New: This season’s RBA concerts will be held at various venues in Mountain View, Los Altos, & Palo Alto.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome two concerts this week.

On Thursday, October 23, NCBS welcomes an Another Planet Entertainment concert with Trampled By Turtles and Elephant Revival to the Fox Theatre in Oakland.

On Friday, October 24, NCBS welcomes a Woodshed Music & Arts concert with Druha Trava to St. James Church in San Jose.

First Aid Kit will perform in the Another Planet Entertainment presentation on Thursday, November 13 at 8:00pm.

Samantha Crain from Oklahoma is the opening act.

Opening RBA Concert Is Saturday October 18 With Blue Diamond Strings

Blue Diamond Strings

Blue Diamond Strings will perform at the opening concert of the Redwood Bluegrass Associates 2014-2015 season. The new band is Eric Thompson, Kate Brislin, Jody Stecher, Suzy Thompson, Paul Shelasky, and Paul Knight. Jack Tuttle will lead the pre-concert slow jam.

The Saturday, October 18 concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Of Mountain View (Cuesta at Miramonte).

Both the regular jam and and the new slow jam will begin at 5:00pm. Doors will open at 7:00pm. The concert will begin at 7:30pm.

NCBS has welcomed all RBA concerts since 1995.

Planning Note:

This season, the RBA concert series will be held at several different venues in Palo Alto, Los Altos, and Mountain View, and start times for the Saturday evening series will vary, so attention to concert details is essential.

The Bluegrass On Broadway festival receives principal financial support from the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission and other Redwood City organizations, agencies, individuals, and businesses.
