Looking Ahead To The September 2015 Northern California Bluegrass & Beyond Festivals

Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Festival, The Surf Spot, Pacifica.

NCBS/CBA FREE Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Festival, The Surf Spot, Pacifica.

A nice run of September bluegrass & beyond festivals is almost upon us in Northern California. Here are next month’s listings.

Sadly, an old favorite stop, the quarter-century-old venue at Plymouth is gone from the schedule, but revived gatherings at McCloud & Sanger are here to entertain us this fall.

Meanwhile, the newest Northern California Bluegrass Society event — The Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Festival — is FREE & conveniently located in Pacifica. We hope to see you at this joint gathering with the CBA on Sunday, September 20!

The Strawberry Music Festival has a new home at Westside, Tuolumne! The Lodi Lake festival has tweaked the format to a broader “Americana” genre, while the world’s largest, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, comes to us in early October. Of course, the big IBMA World Of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC is still the greatest bluegrass show on earth.
