The Ventucky String Band (Ventura) will make its first appearance at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos this August 7-10.
The 21st annual festival, held 7 miles south of Hollister, is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The friendly camping and jamming gathering is a showcase of top California bluegrass bands. Discount Advance Tickets are on sale through July 22 on this website and By Mail. Northern California Bluegrass Society Members receive a deep discount by purchasing advance tickets. Non-Members receive a discount.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the first annual Freemark Abbey Bluegrass Festival.
Here is all you need to know to go to this first annual event:
Festival: The wine country gathering will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, Noon-6:00pm at the historic Freemark Abbey Winey in St. Helena (in the Napa Valley).
Tickets: Tickets are $65 and include music, barbecue, and a glass of Freemark Abbey wine. There will be plenty of tickets at the door.

Bicyclist Sam Culbertson Crosses Oregon-California Border On His Way To The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival August 7-10
Sam Culbertson of Portland, OR enjoyed his first visit to the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival back in 2012. The banjo and guitar player performed with the The Happy Enchalata Band on the First Stage. On that trip he traveled in the band van.
In a few weeks, he will return to the GOF festival using a different mode of transportation. He is riding his bicycle from Portland to Tres Pinos for the August 7-10, 2014 gathering. He recently crossed the Oregon-California border on Highway One. After the festival, he will head out for Los Angeles.

The TrueLife Troubadours (Boulder Creek) will perform on the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival’s First Stage on Friday afternoon, August 8. The newly-formed traditional bluegrass band will play at 2:00pm and lead into the Main Stage Schedule.
The 21st annual GOF festival is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society and is set for Thursday-Sunday, August 7-10, 2014 at Bolado Park, Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister). Thursday is reserved for jamming and socializing; the First Stage will open the performance portion of the event with bands playing Noon-3:00pm.
The deadline for advance discount tickets is Tuesday, July 22.
