The Northern California Bluegrass Highlights For August 2015

Cliff Compton

Cliff Compton

good-old-fashioned-bluegrass-festival-final-poster-2015August is Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival time in Northern California! The friendly, fun gathering of bluegrass musicians and their friends - new and old — is coming August 6-9. Don’t miss it!

There are festivals all around the state this month — Felton, Sutter Creek, San Diego, Calpine, and sadly, the very last Dead On The Creek festival in Willits.

Meanwhile, nearby Nevada is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Bower’s Mansion Bluegrass Festival near Reno. Even the artsy Burning Man gathering in Nevada’ Black Rock Desert will enjoy some bluegrass this year, courtesy of our own BanjerDan Maser.

Check the highlights for great concerts with California-based bands (Steve Martin!) this month — as most of the eastern bands are back home.

There are many other fine shows not included in this selective listing — enjoy all the music with your NCBS Friends this month!
